Brain Boosting Cocoa Breakfast Smoothies

Cooking with children is a wonderful thing. It brings a huge sense of pride, and a love and understanding of food that they'll carry with them for life. Grow and source ingredients, look up recipes, follow directions, measure, taste and work as a team. It promotes communication, language, reading, math, gross motor skills and confidence. Don't forget to clean up together too!

Breakfast Shakes are the perfect 'meal' to let them take charge of. My boys have been making these since they were toddlers, and it’s still their number 1 breakfast request.

From a nutrition perspective, these Smoothies are a great way to start the day, with the brain boosting nootropic benefits of Cocoa, the healthy fats and omega 3 found in Avocado, as well as potassium and beta carotene. The fibre, vitamins C, E, K and B6, magnesium, riboflavin and niacin found in Bananas and Avocado. Not forgetting the calcium, vitamin D and phosphorous in the Milk and the antioxidants found in Honey!

We have this superb blend for breakfast at least three times a week. It's quick, easy, nutritious and has been on rotation on our breakfast table for years now.
